You Can Have An Income From Web Marketing

You’re probably all fired up at the thought of becoming a Web Marketer and earning a good income from home. This idea has many appealing features – you can work at home in your old jeans and sneakers, you can develop a digital product and sell it multiple times, you can choose the hours you want to work without your boss watching the clock and if you want to go swimming in the middle of the day, that’s up to you. The thought of making more money than you do at the moment is also very exciting.

Yes, it is possible to become a successful Web marketer and make good money, but it’s not an overnight short path to riches that some may have you believe. There is a lot of learning that has to happen as well as hard work on your part to find the success and duplicate it again and again.

The path to Web marketing success involves going through three stages, which we will look at here, so you know what to expect in your new career.

Stage 1: Too much information can get in your way

So you’ve made the decision to become a Web marketer. Some people find this an easy choice and for others it’s more difficult. Whichever, you have to be fully committed to it and not just play around. Trying it out and shying away as soon as things get a little tough will not get you very far.

You are visiting sales pages and downloading products to learn about Web marketing. These products guarantee good results if you read them closely and follow the instructions. You can see the potential so you’re excited. So you keep buying ebooks, keep testing the different business models being demonstrated, jumping from one thing to another and never giving your full attention to any one of them.

You are now on the lists of many marketers and it takes hours of your time reading their emails and testing out their latest promotions. You’re worried you’ll miss something important if you don’t read them all. There is so much information coming at you and you’re frantically trying to digest it all, so you end up not achieving anything.

Stage 2: Get focused and take action

You stay in the first stage until you discover what’s actually happening and you notice that you haven’t started making any real money. Lots of people throw in the towel before they get to this point. But you realize that it’s time to opt-out of the majority of the mailing lists you are subscribed to, choose a business model you like, make your learning more focused (and spend less time doing it), and start to take focused action.

You’re fully committed to the one path you’ve chosen and you “drill deep” and make some mistakes but have consistent success. This is when it starts getting fun, especially when you see consistent money coming into your PayPal account.

Stage 3: Do some fine tuning and automate

Now that your chosen business model is a success, you decide to automate it as far as you can. Your emails are being sent with an autoresponder, your customers are getting their content automatically delivered, and you have a great system in place. It’s easy to duplicate what you have done because you are using tried and tested templates, action sheets, and you have shortcuts to make things faster.

You are now working with a team you have built. You have writers for your articles, ebooks and blog posts. You have a website developer and graphic designer on hand. You have developed relationships with many web marketers and have an army of affiliates.

Next you’re starting a coaching program to help the new web marketers do what you’ve done. You remember what it was like to be in stage 1, don’t you?
